The challenge
In tandem with Triton developing technology to increase the lifespan of their water heater they were looking for industrial design that would differentiate them from competitiors. They were seeking design that would be innovative and have longevity. The new range would include both mechanical and digitial temperature control.
Trend spotting
Emulating the technology, design and marketing of successful competitors can be a tempting strategy. However it demonstartes a lack of confidence and understanding of people and what influences theur purchase decisions. The Topaz range of electric showers was developed using trend analysis to identify a burgeoning shift in attitudes to to the bathroom and influences from other cultures.
The design
Through research and trend analysis we were able to demonstrate that the bathroom was no longer just a place to get clean. It was becoming a space for mental and spiritual recouperation, a place to relax and esacpe from the stresses of life. New shapes, colours and materials of accessories were allowing greater freedom to personalise the bathroom. The result is a softer shower design that distanced itself from the traditional 'square box on the wall'.
