The design
Through in-depth focus groups and obervational research we established a user priority list of functional, ergonomic and aesthetic requirements The result was an award winning range of tape measures incorporating 5 patents relating to shock resistance and comfort.
Fisco tapes can withstand drops from 10 metres on to concrete and have easy-to-use belt clips and lock buttons.
The challenge
Fisco, owned and managed by the sons of the founder, was established in the 1930s around patents for the curved metal tape measure blade.
In response to low cost competition from Asia, Fisco commissioned Frazer Designers to research and develop two ranges of tape measure to compete on innovation and quality rather than price.
Design for OEM customers
Many of our clients are Tier 1 technology companies, manufacturing own brand and OEM products. We can help out by rapidly responding to design briefs where casing designs are needed to meet demand from our client's OEM customers.
This is particularly common with TV broadcast operators where custom designs are required for remote controls and set top boxes.
